Does God call us as Christians to live a Holy life?, the answer would be a resounding yes! What does the word Holy mean? One definition of Holy states Belonging to, derived from, or associated with a divine power, sacred. Another one states “Specified or set apart for a religious purpose”. Lets see what God says about being Holy. 1 peter -15 -16 states “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.

In the one definition it says that being holy means to be set apart. As Christians we are set apart from the world. We no longer should be living like the world lives. What I mean by that is we should not be thinking like the world does lusting after things, such as men or women or material objects. We should not take out our anger on people as some one who is not following Christ might. We should not engage in things that would grieve the Holy Spirit. Things like watching pornography, watching things on television that have compromising material on them. We also should not speak in a manner that is not pure. The things that come out of our mouth should be clean and pure.

Ephesians 5 states But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, of or greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person-such is an idolater-has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
I think this passage of Scripture speaks boldly of what God is asking of us in the place of Holiness. Living in a life that is filled with sin is only toxic, and it will keep us from walking with God. Being a Christian and dabbling in sin can also cause us to walk away from God. The Beautiful part of walking in Holiness is having God in your life. When we walk in purity, we can walk in peace with God, and have a clear conscience. But make no mistake you cannot do both, you or we cannot fool ourselves our God and think that we can dable in sin or have things in our life that our unholy and walk upright with God. To do that is impossible!

I also know that the devil the enemy of our souls loves to keep us in sin and away from God. The devil knows how Awesome God is for he once was in God’s presence. The devil knows that if you as a Christian where to draw near to God that you life would become nothing short of amazing.

If you want to have all of God in you life and not be a lukewarm worldly Christian plan on walking in Holiness be like your God. If you have anything in your life that you are compromising with right now repent and turn from those things or stay in the place where you are empty and broken.

God truly wants you to draw near to Him, He wants to fill you with His power, love, strength, wisdom, and show you the things He has planned for you life. But this will never happen if you do not walk in Holiness. God Bless

  2. Amen Joe we must never give up! I was spending time listening to worship music while i was in Louisiana and the Lord was telling me to fight the good fight of faith. It seems though that my flesh and its desires just want comfort and the easy way of life. But rather God is not calling me to live by the flesh but the spirit. The Lord has shown me twice that He is more concerned with my character than my comfort. I have been thinking that I do not want to live my life by my belly but rather by desiring God the most out of everything in my life!
